Direct-Fit Stage 2 Turbo Upgrade for MQB 2.0 TSI
The Garrett G25-660 Stage 2 turbocharger is a strong bolt-on upgrade for drivers who want more power without custom work. Because it is built as a direct-fit kit for VW/Audi MQB 2.0L TSI, installation stays close to OE. In addition, it includes a calibrated electronic actuator and the needed components for proper factory-style fitment.
MK7 GTI600HP Capability
With the right supporting parts, the G25-660 can support up to ~600 flywheel horsepower (based on on-vehicle results). More importantly, it moves a lot more air than stock. In fact, it offers about +59% more flow compared to the IS38 turbo (stock Golf R).
As a result, it’s a great choice for high-power street builds, track cars, and strong tuned daily drivers.
G-Series Design and High-Temperature Parts
Garrett’s G-Series design is made for efficient airflow and high power. At the same time, the materials are chosen for heat and durability:
- G-Series compressor wheel for higher airflow and power potential
- Modern gasoline turbine wheel made from Mar-M alloy, rated up to 1050°C
- Stainless steel turbine housing, also rated up to 1050°C
- Machined speed sensor port in the compressor housing
- Ball-bearing center section for improved response and stability
Key Features
- Direct-fit Stage 2 upgrade for MQB 2.0 TSI (MK7 platform)
- Complete assembly with calibrated electronic actuator and OE-style hardware
- Up to ~600 flywheel HP capable with the correct supporting mods
- Approx. +59% airflow vs IS38 (stock Golf R turbo)
- High heat rating up to 1050°C
- Ball-bearing turbo for high-performance use
- Speed sensor port for overspeed monitoring options
Vehicle Fitment
Fits 2.0L TSI applications, including:
- Audi: A3, S3, TT, TTS
- Volkswagen: Golf (Base), Golf AllTrack, Golf GTI, Golf R
Supporting Mods Used for the Stated Results
To reach the referenced performance figures, the test setup included:
- Larger intercooler
- Custom exhaust system
- Reinforced pistons and lower compression (9.2:1)
- Upgraded fuel system (larger high-pressure fuel pump and larger injectors)
- Transmission software upgrade
- Cylinder head valve springs
- Fuel: 102 octane unleaded (also tested with ethanol mix)
Therefore, results can vary based on tuning, fuel, boost targets, engine condition, and supporting parts.
Overspeed Warning
Maximum allowable turbocharger speed is 165,000 rpm (165 krpm). If you run above this limit, you do so at your own risk, and it may cause damage or early failure.
To help prevent overspeed, the compressor housing has a machined speed sensor port for these parts:
- 781328-0003 (sensor + gauge)
- 781328-0004 (speed sensor only)
Speed sensors are sold separately.
